Michael Lewis is a recording artist, producer and session guitarist based in Nashville, TN.

As a solo artist, Michael has toured coast to coast from Seattle, Washington to Boca Raton, Florida and from Bangor, Maine to San Diego, California. He has performed hundreds of concerts at churches across the U.S. Mexico and in Europe along with performances at a number of large conferences and gatherings.

Michael has released eleven of his own albums including two projects for the #1 production library in the country. Two more albums are currently in production including a song, written and produced by Michael, featuring Phil Keaggy and Michael Lewis on guitars.

Michael's music is heard worldwide and has appeared on ABC, Fox Sports Network, Direct TV, EWTN Radio and in many foreign countries including: Canada, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Africa, UK, The Netherlands... He is a signed artist on Spirit Jazz Records, a division of ICM Records based in North Carolina.

Michael is in demand locally as a performing guitarist and has played most of the major venues in Nashville. For several years, he has performed concerts with Radio Daze 23-piece big band – also based in Music City.

Michael receives calls for remote session work from across the country and Europe. Notably, Michael has toured and/or performed with Curb Recording Artist, Dove Nominee, Jamie Slocum, Grammy winners Wayne Kirkpatrick and Chris Kent (Larry Carlton's Bass player) and a host of other top session players and major label artists.

On Sunday evenings Michael leads worship for LifeTeen in Clarksville, TN backed by a group of talented Christian session musicians. He gives workshops nationwide on how to be an effective worship leader.

As an engineer/producer, Michael has credits on over forty albums and has produced commercials for the #1 jingle provider in the US. Michael is highly regarded for his expressive guitar playing and has endorsements with Taylor Guitars, Fuchs Amplifiers and Lava Cable.

Michael has many years of contemporary and liturgical worship experience with Catholic and Protestant Churches across the country. Michael travels to churches nationwide, presenting concerts of contemporary Christian music interlaced with inspiring reflections. His wife and five children travel with him – each fulfilling a vital role in this ministry. Since 1985, Michael has ministered to thousands of people in churches across the United States and in Europe.

Michael grew up in San Jose, California during a time when spiritual revival was sweeping through Catholic and Protestant churches in this region. He began his music career as a church musician shortly before his 12th birthday. A natural with the guitar, he later added bass and keybord chops to become a utility player for the youth praiise and worship group.

After a profound encounter with Jesus at age 17, Michael became a passionate follower of Christ. The power of God's forgiveness and healing changed Michael deeply. In time, he discerned a call to use his exceptional musical abilities to serve the Lord and has developed his talents to a level that makes him mesmerizing to watch in concert. Michael views his musical talents as subservient to his desire to glorify the Lord and proclaim His word. He believes in the call to "walk humbly before your God" no matter what status or ability you have achieved in life.

At age 19, Michael made a life-changing visit to a prayer meeting at a church across town. There he met a very special young lady named Marjorie Snider. She invited him to lead music at area-wide worship services with her young adult music group. Marjie and Michael developed a great friendship based around their love for the Lord and the common elements in their call to ministry – all the while blind to how deeply the Lord was uniting their hearts. A year later, a beautiful, Jesus-centered marriage on the California coast and a mission trip to Europe instead of a honeymoon marked the beginning of a wonderful marriage. They have been blessed with five children who have become an integral part of their ministry.

An inspiring and humorous speaker, Michael has presented talks and workshops for seminaries, conferences, retreats, prayer meetings, men's groups, Life-in-the-Spirit seminars, and natural family planning classes.

In the early 90's, Michael hosted Rushing Wind, a weekly radio program on a Christian FM station in Portland, Oregon. His program featured contemporary Christian music and a message of discipleship.

In the early '80s, Michael and his wife, Marjie, founded Morning Star Ministries, a large young adult prayer group in California focused on evangelism, discipleship, dynamic praise and worship. MSM also provided counseling, music ministry to the greater San Francisico Bay Area and evangelistic outreaches – including to the inmates of Soledad Prison. In 1984, they launched an ecumenical prayer group in Basel, Switzerland.

Spiritual renewal is an ongoing focus of Michael's ministry. He is well acquainted with the elements that combine to bring widespread spiritual renewal. Michael's own spiritual journey began under the pastorship of Rev. Tom Foster whose openness to the leading of the Holy Spirit enabled him to guide his church into a flourishing center of faith.

Michael has recorded eleven of his own albums. Five Contemporary Christian albums are current (two are out of print), three all-instrumental smooth jazz projects for the Spirit Jazz label, and two additional album projects recorded for the One Music Production Music Library. Michael also has a music video available on VHS or DVD.
